Friday afternoon game!

guesswhichmovie.jpg

Recognise this movie? Yes? Then you really ought to be playing Guess Which Movie!
Work your way through 16 (yep, 16) rounds of 20 obscure movie images, and see if you can beat our own Bruce Buckman who averaged around 90% accuracy. I only managed 55% -- I have obviously spent my free time unwisely.
Of course, the PC World team only played about five rounds before we were compelled by guilt to get back to work -- see if you can beat that, too.

Yo, my favourite MC is MC Escher

Okay, so Weird Al Yankovic is still a bit, well, weird, but gosh he's funny. Here he spoofs Chamillionaire's gangsta video 'Riding Dirty' with 'White and Nerdy'. Hm, sound like anyone you know?

Analyse this

handwriting.jpg
Get your handwriting analysed! Sure, it all ends up being a marketing ploy for Tul Pens, but the analysis is startlingly accurate -- after all, it did say I was calm, independent, gregarious and generous ...

Ahoy, ye scurvy scum!

pirate3.jpg pirate2.jpg
Yarr, today be International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Not sure exactly why, but it is. So today you and your mateys must address your boss as Cap'n, the office junior is Jim Lad, and the receptionist is a sharp-tongued wench. She'll be thrilled.
Got it? If not, here be an instructional video. Get swashbucklin'!

Send us some more funnies, ye landlubbers, or ye'll be keelhauled.

Time keeps on ticking, part 2

deathclock.jpgAs if that last entry didn't make me feel old, reader Scott from Nayland College in Nelson really gets the boot in by sending us the Death Clock. Simply enter your basic details and the site tells you when you're going to kark it. Thanks a lot, kid.

Send something cheerful to dumbterminal@fairfaxbm.co.nz!

Time keeps on ticking

I must be feeling my age these days, because I'm finding these projects intriguing. First is Noah, who's taken a pic of himself every day for the past six years and compiled it into this video -- cool to see his hair grow and get cut, and people coming in and out of the backgrounds ... And in a similar vein is Diego Time, where Diego and his wife have taken annual mugshots of themselves (with new additions to the family popping up every few years) since 1976. Diego stays the same the whole time, just slowly aging, whereas his wife has 70s, 80s and 90s hairdos that show the passage of time. Amazing to see the kids shoot from babies into twentysomethings, too. Sigh. And now I'm another few minutes older, too.
