Halo movie filmed in Wellington landfill
There’s a rather awesome Halo 3 video cruising round the internet at the moment that’s well worth checking out. It’s a live action short called Combat: Part 1 and was shot by Neil Blomkamp (yes, the director Peter Jackson pegged for the Halo movie that’s currently on hold), it makes use of the talented people down at Weta Workshop and features a real-live, working Warthog. Check it out at this address and then stamp your feet impatiently at the fact 20th Century Fox got cold feet in funding the Halo movie.
If you’re a Wellington local you may well recognize the T&T Landfill doubling as a battle scarred warzone. In fact, Microsoft’s Xbox PR supremo has a pair of mud encrusted shoes from her secret behind the scenes junket, er work trip to the set. Watch out for them on eBay, I’m sure they’ll go for thousands.

PC World is New Zealand’s top selling computing and technology magazine.

To be quite honest, I'm not a huge Halo fan. I did play all of the games with friends and liked them, but no tenough to buy any Xbox (I'm loyal to PS3). But, I do think they should make a movie. If done right like any movie, it would be worth seeing 2 or 3 times at least in the theaters... I hope someone has the balls and brains to pull it off soon.

Also, as far as movies go, they'd have to release Contact Harvest first.

A movie should definitly be made, but based mainly off of the books, primarily the Fall of Reach since it fills in all the unanswered questions that people had after playing the games. Like about how the spartans came to be, how the were trained and how they became the best, how there was more than one spartan, each with their own distinct skills. If a willing director/producer joined up with the author Eric Nylund and took it seriously, theres no doubt it would be one hell of a film.

The Combat clip looked awsum!!!! the Movie would be brilliant if it followed the games cuz not everyone's gonna read the books! I've not so I wouldn't know whats goin on!

My Brother and I are thinking, if the creators of the movie will follow the books (they better)
but obviously in the Fall of Reach there is a little boy who won every match of King of the Hill, lets see if who ever does it does a good job...
