Endless alternatives

There's plenty of good software out there -- it's just a question of finding it. AlternativeTo bills itself as a new to doing just that ...
Tell us what application you want to replace and we give you suggestions on great alternatives! Instead of listing thousands of more or less crappy applications in a category, we make each application into a category. Think of it like forever evolving blog posts about good alternatives to the software that you're not satisfied with. And the "blog posts" are generated by you through suggestions, comments and votes.
It covers desktop applications (for Windows, Mac, Linux and online services) as well as mobile applications (for iPhone, WinMobile, Android, Blackberry and S60). You can even add AlternativeTo searches to your browser.
So dump that crappy app and find something better!

There are 3 bits of software that I would happily buy to be windoze free.
Photoshop, Canon's Easy-Photo-Print, and an accounting program that doesnt require a degree in accounting to use..
There is no substitute for Photoshop, Gimp is not even close, and its a pig to use.
Sure, windoze PS will run via wine, but its about as stable as my ex wife.
Photo printing in Linux is a pain.. TurboPrint is nearly there, although borderless only works on certain paper sizes and generally it doesn't "just work" like windoze software does. I would pay Canon for a linux version of the free software that comes with their printers :)
Accounting: Any dedicated linux account software I've tried seems to have a UI designed by masochists.
I'm sure there must be other linux users who would willingly pay for good dedicated software :)
